Orchestras for All: Annual Report July 2022 to June 2023

Empowering young musicians across the UK

In 2022-2023, Orchestras for All (OFA) made significant progress toward its mission of increasing access to music education, positively impacting over 500 young people across the UK. Through its flagship programme, National Orchestra for All (NOFA), and the Modulo Programme, OFA empowered young musicians from underserved backgrounds to gain orchestral experience, perform with others, build their confidence and develop their skills. NOFA provided participants with immersive learning in a collaborative, national youth orchestra setting, fostering new friendships and a lifelong appreciation for music.

The Modulo Programme worked with orchestras in schools and local community groups, supporting small ensembles in institutions often lacking resources for arts education. This programme has expanded rapidly, with teachers and students working in collaboration to overcome significant barriers to music participation, regardless of their prior musical experience. Additionally, OFA’s Music Leadership Training gave music teachers and educators the vital tools and resources they needed to develop sustainable music programmes, ensuring a lasting impact within schools nationwide.

Overall, our Annual Report 2022-23 underscores OFA’s commitment to inclusivity and community-building, transforming young lives by bringing music education to those who might not otherwise have access.
